Changes in Croatian law

Corrected the three-year residence rule (it applies to Croatian citizens too) and the late-filing gap (it runs from 1 March); added August 2026 figures.

The calculator now covers Pillar I only pension insurance, six to nine dependent children, very low part-time pay and the highest pension contribution base.

Added a direct link to HZMO's official online application portal (e-Zahtjev) so readers can file their claim without leaving the guide.

Clarified the 1 March deadline: a late renewal application does not forfeit the year — the benefit still starts, just from the filing date instead of 1 March.

Fixed the lead summary: your personal allowance lowers the taxable amount before tax is calculated, it is not deducted from net pay directly.
