Updated to confirm the €2,300 maximum monthly insurable income now in force from 1 August 2026, after the 2026 social-insurance budget was finally adopted on 22 July 2026.

Added the planned 1 August 2026 rise in the maximum insurable income to €2,300 and its effect on the top 8% health contribution, plus the three-year freeze and business opposition.

Updated July 2026 — Parliament approved the 2026 social-insurance budget bill at first reading, confirming the maximum insurable income rises to 2,300 € from 1 August 2026 (frozen through 2028).
