Changes in Bulgarian law

Corrected the conditions for bringing your own car when you move to Bulgaria and added a relocation-relief switch to the import tax calculator.

Corrected the child tax relief citation and fixed the calculator: the 2026 monthly amounts (255.65/511.29/766.94 EUR) come from the 2026 State Budget Act, not chl. 22v alone, and the relief now correctly caps at 766.94 EUR for 3+ children instead of growing without limit.

Added a hedged 2027 budget outlook (draft Finance Ministry guidelines only, nothing enacted) and corrected the euro/leva FAQ now that the mandatory dual-display period has ended.

Added the 2026-09-02 parliamentary vote to eliminate the vehicle eco-tax (pending final reading), a consumer-safety warning on stolen/wanted imported cars, the South Korea and UK/Brexit customs exceptions, and a direct link to Bulgarian Customs' car-import guidance.

Calculator now covers the full 2026 insurable-income range and labels which bases apply before and after 1 August

Corrected the statutory interest rate for restoring lapsed NHIF rights after Bulgaria's 2026 switch from the BNB base rate to the ECB refinancing-rate benchmark.

Updated the 2026 insurable-income ceiling, minimum bases and health-contribution amounts to the values in force from 1 August 2026.

Updated to confirm the €2,300 maximum monthly insurable income now in force from 1 August 2026, after the 2026 social-insurance budget was finally adopted on 22 July 2026.

Added the planned 1 August 2026 rise in the maximum insurable income to €2,300 and its effect on the top 8% health contribution, plus the three-year freeze and business opposition.

Updated July 2026 — Parliament approved the 2026 social-insurance budget bill at first reading, confirming the maximum insurable income rises to 2,300 € from 1 August 2026 (frozen through 2028).
